Save & Earn with Coupon Chief

We are, and have been in budgeting/money saving mode in our home pretty much our entire married life due to being in school for all of it. We try to save as much as possible, and every penny I am able to save is important to me as a wife, a homemaker and a mother.

Which is why when I’m shopping for something online, I almost always visit Coupon Chief before checking out because Coupon Chief is a leading source of promo codes for online shopping. Just go to their website, type the store’s name in the search box and you will be taken to a list of available promotional codes/coupons. Your shopping trip just became that much cheaper.

Go to the Zoo

If spring is in the air and you’re looking for something to do, check out your local zoo to see if they have free days during the colder months. Our zoo is free every Monday until the end of February, and while my mom was in town, we took my boys up there.

DSCN4953It was in the 50s and windy today so we were still a bit cold, but there were so many indoor exhibits that we had a blast. There were statues everywhere for kids to climb on, play grounds, and I even saw them putting in new wooden swing sets today, which will only make the zoo more fun next time we go!

Earning Money Online

I still consider my blog to be in its infancy...after all, it's not even a year old yet, and while I am hoping to increase revenue through my blog over time, I have been using a few other sites to earn a bit of money in the mean time that I wanted to share. It is definitely not a solid income, but every little bit helps, right? :)

Inbox Dollars sends several advertising e-mails a day. When you click through the e-mails, you will earn 2 cents. You can take surveys or shop through them as well to earn money.

Just like Inbox Dollars, you will earn 2 cents per e-mail you click through with Send Earnings. You can cash out when you reach $30.

Search through SwagBucks to earn points. You only need 450 points to get a $5 amazon.com giftcard!

Opinion Outpost is a survey site that I have heard great things about. Many people I have talked to have great success qualifying for surveys and earn quickly.

I have heard others recommend getting a separate e-mail account purely for surveys or ad e-mails...I haven't so far but have definitely thought about it.
I am still exploring all of the options and different ways to earn money through the internet, but between my boys and crafting :), I find myself pretty busy. If you have any sites that you just love, please tell us about them in the comments!

Disclaimer: Many of these links are referral links and if you sign up through them I may receive credit to my account.

Hot Prints Photo Book

http://www.hotprints.com/hotPrintsLogo.png
Hot Prints is an online photo site that offers a free photo book every month! The photo books are about 16 pages long, and because they are free, they have removable ad inserts which pull right out.I thought it would be fun for K to have his own photo book, and since it's free, I knew I wouldn't have to stress about it getting ruined. If so, I can go print another one!

To make the book more exciting for K than just photos, I used Wikimedia Commons to search for pictures with any form of transportation, and edited K's picture into them. Wikimedia Commons has thousands of pictures that are not copyrighted, and can be used by anyone.I guess it's kind of like a Where's Waldo book. It ended up being pictures of places K likes to go, and his favorite ways to get there. My husband was super patient with me as he taught me how to use paint.net to photoshop K into the pictures. They certainly wouldn't fool Hollywood, but I think the book turned out pretty cute.

I'm giving this to K for his birthday in a couple of weeks, but every time he saw a picture of him on a bus or with a tractor on our computer he would get so excited, so I'm hoping he will love this book.

I'm linking up to Tea Rose Home and Trendy Treehouse.
