Clothespin Butterfly Craft

We've been doing a lot of crafts recently since we're home so much. My girls frequently ask me for new crafts and one day they wanted to make butterflies. So, we present to you our Clothespin Butterfly Craft!

Paper Plate Caterpillars

My boys are finding caterpillars and other bugs everywhere, so this was the perfect craft for us one afternoon. Even my daughter (almost 2) enjoyed making her own paper plate caterpillar!
Paper Plate Caterpillars
I just cut a paper plate in half and cut along the raised portion if that makes any sense.  I cut one for each of us and we all colored our caterpillars in various patterns/colors. Then we cut out construction paper legs & heads.

This was fun for all ages in our home (mom, 9 year old, 7 year old & almost 2 year old)! Thank you Glued to My Craft for the cute idea!

Plastic Spoon Butterflies

My toddler pronounces butterfly as "blublubluh!" and it's the cutest thing ever! We decorated her room with butterflies and she loves finding them in books. My boys love to catch them and chase them while I remind them constantly to be gentle. Basically, we all love them, so these plastic spoon butterflies were the perfect craft for us.

Plastic Spoon Ants

Even though my boys are getting older, they still love doing crafts, and especially anything to do with bugs! They had a blast making these ants out of plastic spoons:

Caterpillar Crafts

I know it's still frigid in many parts of the country, and bugs are scarce, but here's fun craft for your little ones to do while they're stuck indoors: Popsicle stick caterpillars or clothespin caterpillars.
Caterpillar Crafts: Popsicle stick caterpillar and clothespin caterpillar
This was a simple craft for my boys, but they loved making their own patterns. All you need is either Popsicle sticks or clothespins, pom poms, googly eyes and glue. We used hot glue, but school glue could work too. You can glue googly eyes to the front, or glue little pom poms on the head.

Have fun! Thanks We Made That for the fun idea.

Popsicle Stick Dragonflies

My boys loved making these dragonflies out of Popsicle sticks recently...
Popsicle Stick Fireflies

Just glue two Popsicle sticks across one stick in an X shape for the wings. My 8 year old chose to make his wings parallel to each other. Then decorate! We used markers and puffy paint on our dragonflies.

Kids Craft: Spiders

It's time for all sorts of creepy-crawlies...including the cute, homemade ones! My boys loved making these spiders out of pipe-cleaners :)
Kids Crafts: Pipe Cleaner Spider
Put 4 pipe-cleaners together and bend in half. Twist the bent side into a head and fan out the legs.

Add beads at the joints and position your spider in various ways :)
