Simple Easter Crafts

 Spring break is upon us, and Easter will be here before we know it! Here are two simple crafts to keep your little ones busy...at least for a little bit:

B is for Bunny craft:

1. On a piece of construction paper, draw a large letter B
2. Along the letter, put some white school glue. If your child is old enough, they can do this part.
3. Have your child place cotton balls on the glue.
4. Cut out some bunny ears and glue those on at the top of your letter B.
5. Add some googly eyes and you have a cute, alphabet Easter craft.

Handprint Bunnies

1. Trace your child's hand and cut it out.
2. Fold the middle finger behind the bunny (or cut it off)
3. Fold down the pinky finger and thumb to act as the bunny's arms.
4. Have your child draw on the face, feet, and inside of ears.
5. Voila! You have a cute little hand print bunny!

"Bite Me" Easter sign

When we were very little, my brother stole my aunt's chocolate Easter bunny and took a bite of it before hiding the evidence. When the bunny was found, my dad compared our teeth to the impressions and was able to figure out who the culprit was. Obviously, my brother still hasn't lived it down and it's one of those funny family stories that gets re-told every so often.

So, I felt my aunt needed this sign to put up in her office:

I bought the plaque at Walmart and painted it pink. I found a bunny silhouette online and uploaded it to my Cricut account. This was such a fun, simple project, and it gave my aunt a good laugh.

DIY Easter Bunny Onesie

My daughter has a stuffed bunny that she adores...she sleeps with it and carries it with her wherever she can. Needless to say, Easter is a wonderful holiday for her because of all the bunnies! So, I decided to make her her own bunny shirt:

After I saw a bunny shirt at Craftaholics Anonymous, I knew I could make one with materials I had on hand! I used freezer paper stenciling to make this shirt. To make your own, you'll need a stencil...print out a silhouette of a bunny or use the one I drew below:

Bunny Rabbit Cake

My daughter has a lovey that was given to her on her first Easter... one of those bunny heads attached to a blanket. She has loved that bunny nearly to pieces, so for her second birthday, I felt that a bunny rabbit cake was only fitting!

This cake comes together easily and is made of 2 round cakes!

Rice Bunnies

I figured my boys could use some more friends for Bunny & Clyde this year and after seeing Dana’s Peeps Bunting, and pondering on it for a while, this is what came to mind:
Rice bunnies! You know the rice bags that you heat up for a sore tummy…or bean bags for throwing around?

Bunny & Clyde

Hello, everyone! Meet Bunny & Clyde:
These little guys have been monopolizing my evenings lately because I decided it would be fun to make my boys Easter bunnies this year to deliver their baskets.

I was given the pattern (Simplicity 9524), and I don't think this sort of undertaking will become an Easter tradition because of all the work involved, mostly because I'm silly and made lots of mistakes.

K did find the yellow bunny when I hadn't hid it well enough and hugged it tightly until I took it away and told him the Easter bunny would bring it back, so at least the effort will be worth it if he still loves them. I don't think C will care much this year, but at least he'll know I cared when he's older, right?
