Texture and Beauty: Crayon Art and All Across Africa

Recently, I received this beautiful floral arrangement from ProFlowers which was in a vase from Rwanda:

ProFlowers is working with All Across Africa to provide training and teaching to producers in Africa, as well as healthcare for 18,000+ people. One of these vases from Africa can help a child go to school for 2 months. So, not only do we get to enjoy beautiful flowers, but when we buy these vases, we get to help others too!

The thing I loved most about this arrangement was the color and texture. With this in mind, my boys and I made some art of our own...crayon dot art!

We had fun experimenting with texture and color by holding crayons over a candle and then pressing it onto cardstock paper. I love the different texture this provided our "art" and my boys had fun too :).  I think my 9 year old could get into modern art!

Some of my other favorite crafts with texture that we have done are:
Sand Art, Puffy Paint, Taggie Balls, Sensory Balloons, and Embroidered Cards.
Thank you Pieces by Polly for the fun idea! I’ll be linking up to Making Your Home Sing Sunday, Clever Chicks Blog Hop, Best Mom Advice,
