I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday weekend! During the last several days we have been trying to teach our boys what the 4th of July means for our country and every time our 4 year old would ask a question about America or the American flag, he would call it the “A-miracle flag.”

image0Though it was just a mispronunciation on his part, it made me pause each time he said it to think about the miracles that took place to bring this country to where it is, and the miracles in my life and I am so grateful!

I know that here are many wonderful countries to live in and I think miracles took place in each of those countries as well, but I feel blessed to live here in America and to be able to raise my children here where the opportunities are so great. Happy (belated) Independence Day!

  1. Out of the mouth of babes.....We had a restful holiday. I didn't cook much & due to me hurting my shoulder we didn't go visit. Our kids really make us think about some of the things they say even when its a mispronounced word.

  2. How sweet! Is that his drawing? It is just adorable. I'm glad you had such a blessed holiday :D

  3. @SocialStudiesSoubrette the picture was actually done by my 2 year old with help from nursery leaders at church on Sunday and I thought it was just too cute not to share :)

  4. @Help! Mama Remote...sorry to hear that you hurt your shoulder! I hope it gets well soon.
