Shamrock Craft

If you're trying to get in the St Patrick's Day spirit with a cute craft for your kiddos, try this...

St Patrick's shamrock craft

We have shamrocks galore in our backyard this time of year, so this was a perfect way to get my kids outside for a while, while they collected enough shamrocks.

When my kids were busy collecting, I drew a big pot on a piece of card stock. Then I took a nail and poked many, many holes in the paper.

My kids then stuck the stems of the shamrocks through those holes until their pots were overflowing. This was great for my 5 year old's hand-eye coordination!

I got this idea from a video I saw of someone drawing a vase, and then filling the vase with fresh flowers from outside (if you know the source, please share it with me!).

Fruity Cereal Rainbow

I'm pulling out all the crafts I did when my boys were little to entertain my 3 year old daughter, and it's so fun comparing how different they are! I'm so glad I have this archive of crafts to pull up when she says it's time to do a craft. Recently we made a fruity cereal rainbow and she loved it.

Leprechaun Trap

My boys look forward to St Patricks Day every year and spend a lot of time plotting how they are going to catch the leprechauns. In all honesty, I dread this time! This is not my favorite project, but my boys LOVE it!

Last year, my younger son made this trap:

More than a pot of gold

Last year, my then 5 year old made this for St. Patrick’s Day…"My family is worth more to me than gold" Kimball 2013

In his writing, it says “My family is worth more to me than gold”

I think it’s the perfect reminder of where our priorities should be and I love that his teacher was instilling this in her class of kindergarteners!

Happy St. Patrick’s Day!

Leprechaun Cookies

You are getting sleepy…very sleepy…

This year, we are totally ready in our home to hypnotize any Leprechauns we catch and trick them into telling us where the gold is stashed! How? With these:DSCN5052
