Valentine Sugar Cookies

If you’re taking treats to your kids’ Valentine’s parties at school, consider taking these adorable heart shaped sugar cookies: Heart Sugar Cookies at whatilivefor.net

These are super easy to make, and my 3 year old loved helping me make them. All you need is a set of heart shaped cookie cutters…I bought a set of 6 at Walmart for less than $1.50.

Make a batch of sugar cookie dough and separate into two halves. Leave one half white and color the other half pink. Chill for 1/2-2 hours.

Roll out each color of dough and using your different sizes of heart cookie cutters cut out several of your largest hearts. Use a smaller heart to cut out the center. Put the smaller hearts inside the cut outs of the opposite colored larger hearts. If you have enough different sizes, you can do 3 different colors or layers. P1040782

Press down the different colors to even them out a bit and close the gap between the different colors.

Bake for 8-10 minutes at 350 degrees. Cool for 1 minute on the cookie sheet and move to a cooling rack to cool completely.

Happy Valentine’s Day!
