Listerine Challenge

I brush and floss my teeth every single night…even the nights after I gave birth to both of my boys. I am borderline OCD about my teeth and yet I still get cavities. Let me tell you, it is one of the most frustrating things ever! The only thing that keeps me brushing and flossing is the fear of how much worse my teeth would be.

For this reason, I really want to instill in my kids a commitment to oral hygiene. We brush their teeth every night, but all of the above being said about my own oral hygiene, I am horrible about flossing my kids’ teeth…their teeth are so little that the gaps between each teeth leave plenty of room for their toothbrushes to clean (or at least it seems that way).

As the holidays approach and life becomes more hectic with an increase in junk food and travel, Listerine has issued a challenge! According to Listerine, brushing and flossing alone leave behind germs in 75% of your mouth…adding 30 seconds to your oral care routine with mouthwash can help protect your mouth and help to battle the increased sugar you will likely be putting in your mouth.

After learning that the #1 chronic childhood illness is pediatric oral disease, I definitely have a stronger desire to teach good oral hygiene habits to my children, and encourage them to maintain those habits throughout their lives.

My family has accepted the Listerine Oral Care challenge and will be doing our best to brush, floss and rinse with mouthwash twice a day, every day for a few weeks and I will be sure to update you on how the challenge goes (psst…here’s the update on our Listerine Challenge) :).

I wrote this review while participating in a blog tour by Mom Central Consulting on behalf of Listerine and received product samples to facilitate my review and a promotional item to thank me for taking the time to participate.
