Leprechaun Cookies

You are getting sleepy…very sleepy…

This year, we are totally ready in our home to hypnotize any Leprechauns we catch and trick them into telling us where the gold is stashed! How? With these:DSCN5052

You can be prepared too. All you need is a batch of sugar cookies. Mix it up and divide the dough in half. Color half of the dough green.DSCN5048

Roll out the dough between wax paper and chill in the fridge for 1/2 an hour or so (the longer you wait, the harder the next step will be). It helps if you get each slab of dough to about the same size. I had two slabs of each color. Or, you can try what my husband says and roll them out in a rectangular cookie sheet so the sides are straight (let me know if this works!).

Remove the dough from the wax paper (and fridge of course) and layer two slabs. Roll them tightly into a log as seen below. Be especially sure to pinch the middle closed or you might have a hole in the center of your cookies.DSCN5050

Using a strand of unflavored floss, wrap the floss around the log and over itself. Pull tight to cut perfectly round, dizzying cookies. The ends won’t be the prettiest but have faith…it gets better :). Bake according to your recipe’s directions (though I must say, the sugar cookies I baked are phenomenal and taste even better the day after!).

DSCN5052Let cool and store airtight until you catch one of those pesky little rascals and use these tasty swirls of goodness to trick them into telling you where their stash is. I do claim a 5% commission off whatever you get from them for sharing this phenomenal idea with you :).

Thank you Flexible Dreams for the fun idea! Are you dizzy yet?
