Shape Crafts

I thought it would be fun to give my boys a bunch of shapes and see what they created…Shape crafts

It looks like utter madness, but my 6 year old said his was a bad guy trap and explained in great detail how the bad guy would get led into the trap. The boys had fun, it kept them entertained for a good half hour, and they got to use their imaginations! Plus it was super cheap.

All I did was give them each a piece of construction paper, a glue stick and a bunch of shapes I had cut out of construction paper and set them to work. Perfect for a hot summer day when everyone’s bored.

Driveway Shape Maze

Summer is in full swing here and my boys are as active as ever, so to keep us all entertained one afternoon, I drew a shape maze on our driveway with sidewalk chalk (I got the idea from Creative Family Fun)…Driveway Shape Maze @ whatilivefor.net

I drew squares, circles, triangles and rectangles, with a few octagons thrown in for fun.

This was also a great workout for my legs, squatting and bending over to draw each shape. Both of my boys, ages 6 and 4, loved this and played multiple times. I’m sure they would have played more for days after, but it rained the next day and all I had to show for my hard work was sore thighs! Anyhow, simple, and fun activity to get the kids outside :).
