Rainbow Watercolor Salt Eggs

Across the globe people are stuck at home during this Corona Virus Pandemic and we're all looking for ways to keep our kids entertained. One of the crafts I've done with my kids (ages 12, 10, 5 and 3) was these Rainbow Watercolor Salt Eggs...
Rainbow Watercolor Salt Eggs

Each of my kids LOVED this craft. It is so much fun to watch the salt spread the watercolor paint and the result is a lovely crystallized egg that adds texture and color to your craft.

All you need is:
  • card stock paper (regular paper won't hold up very well
  • white school glue
  • salt
  • watercolor paints
  • cup of water
  • paintbrush
  1. Make a shape with the school glue on your card stock. We made eggs for the upcoming Easter holiday.

  2. Cover the glue with salt and shake off the excess salt. We used a tray under the paper to catch the excess salt.

  3. Get your paintbrush wet and get some watercolor paint on it.
  4. Gently dab your paint brush on the salt/glue and watch the color spread through the salt crystals.

  5. Admire your beautiful Easter art!
Thank you Rhythms of Play for the fun idea!
