Scissor skills activity-toy rescue

My 5 year old just started kindergarten, and the one concern her pre-k teacher had for her was that she doesn't have the hand strength to use scissors very well. Over the summer I had her cut paper when we could, but I knew she would love this scissor skills activity...rescuing her toys!

I just cut a bunch of scrap paper into strips and wrapped them around dinosaurs and other toys. I used a glue stick to glue the ends together.

After the glue dried, I handed her a pair of scissors and let her rescue her dinosaurs.

She loved it so much that we had to trap her ponies too...then she had to rescue them of course!

Thank you Itty Bitty Sunshine for the inspiration!
