Real Low-cost Valentine's Day

-This post is sponsored-

The month of February has arrived and with it one of the four dates that can make or break a relationship. Yes, I am talking about Valentine’s Day and YES I do mean it when I say that it can make or break a relationship.

No matter what is going on in your work, personal, family or financial life, Valentine’s Day is one day that is ALWAYS fraught with danger. In case you were wondering the other three dates are your anniversary, your birthday and the birthdays of any children whether they are yours alone or yours together. Don’t deny it now, whether you are the wealthiest person in the entire universe or so poor that the church mouse feels wealthy in comparison, on Valentine’s Day you expect your partner to provide some kind of token of their love for you.

So what if Valentine’s Day has been commercialized and you think you should be able to show me that you love me on any day of the year. On this particular day of the year, I want you to show me that you love me! This may seem unfair but if things are tight and there is barely two cents to rub together there are still PLENTY of ways you can express your love.

My first piece of advice to all the men out there is to put your pride in your pocket and become a coupon queen. Yes, you read that right. With just one Google search you could probably find a coupon or discount voucher for a flight to the moon. If you're in need of inspiration, visit Discountrue which will help you find the right coupon for the occasion.

Seriously, the days of coupons only being found in the local paper, for the local department store are long past. These days there are ‘buy in bulk’, ‘buy one get one free’, ‘buy one get that free’ and general discount coupons available for just about anything you can imagine from your monthly (or yearly!) groceries to a night out at a real restaurant – not just the pizza joint at the mall! You can even get discounts for pampering services like manicures and hair cuts!

And if even that is too far out of your budget then improvise. Make your own coupon booklet offering certain things which can be redeemed by your beloved. These coupons can be for anything from washing the dishes with no complaint whatsoever to a foot rub to a night of chick flicks and popcorn.

Trust me when I say that no matter how small the gesture that you make is, if your partner knows that it was done with true love from the bottom of your heart, they will treasure it more than if you flew them to the moon!
