Hula Hoop T-Shirt Rug

Thanks to LifeHacker and Disney Family Fun, I was able to learn how to make a cute little rug using t-shirts and a hula hoop. Bonus: I now have a hula hoop (one of those cool things I never got as a child!). DSCN5343

I highly encourage you to visit Family Fun’s tutorial and having your kids try to make their own rug during the summer. It’s a great activity to improve coordination and chase away boredom.

My 4 year old has dubbed this rug as the candy rug. I’ll bet you could never guess why? ;) This poor rug hasn’t had a chance to stay in one place because my boys love carrying it around with them, and I love the little pop of color it brings to our home.

  1. How creative is that! My daughter wouldn't let it lay on the floor either.

  8. @Debbie, you actually cut the loops of the rug off of the hula hoop and tie them together once you're done making it. The hula hoop is only for making the rug.
