Simple Eating for Toddlers on the Go

I am a huge fan of simple, portable snacks to keep in my diaper bag for my 2 year old. It never fails that when we are out and about, she suddenly says "Mommy, I'm hungwy!" For this reason, I love the pouch foods that are so popular right now. If you go down the baby food aisle, or even the canned fruit aisle, you can see a variety of pouch foods with twist lids available.

Needless to say, I was more than happy when I got the chance to try out the Go & Grow by Similac pouches (This post was developed in partnership with Similac. All opinions are my own.). When I went to buy them at my local Walmart, I found out that they don't carry them, so I ordered them on walmart.com and had it shipped to my local store for free. It took 5-6 days, then I got the text saying I could pick them up.

My 2 year old was ecstatic and immediately knew that the box we picked up was for her. She clung to that box throughout the store, insisted on opening it as soon as we got home, and had to try one of the pouches right away.

Because the Go & Grow by Similac pouches have a lot more than simply applesauce (which is what I usually buy), I was worried that she wouldn't like them, but she ate as much as she could, then had me squeeze out all the extra goodness for her. The first pouch she tried was "Mango, Pear, Spinach" for babies (because i ordered the wrong pouch), and like I said, she loved it!

I put the remaining three pouches in my diaper bag and they were perfect for outings to the park, store, and library! She really liked the "Mango, Sweet Potato, Pear", and the "Apple, Butternut Squash, Banana and Blueberry" pouches. However, she was not a big fan of the "Butternut Squash, Pumpkin, Banana, Carrot, Spinach and Broccoli" pouch.

Some of the perks of the Go & Grow by Similac pouches are that they have DHA for healthy brain development, Lutein for eye health, Vitamin E for growth/development, and each pouch has 3-4 servings of combined fruits and veggies. I love how durable and portable these pouches are. I don't have to worry about them bursting in the diaper bag or keeping them refrigerated until after they're opened. These pouches aren't a replacement for healthy eating or fresh fruits and veggies, but they are a great alternative for when you can't carry a sweet potato in your diaper bag. All-in-all, my toddler definitely approves. My one complaint about these pouches is how expensive they are.
