Groundhog Craft

Groundhog Day is February 2nd! Get ready for this fun holiday by making a groundhog in a cup craft with your kids.

Supplies you will need are: a paper or Styrofoam cup, a Popsicle stick, scissors, green paper, crayons or markers, glue stick.

Print off a groundhog or draw your own. We used this template from Mrs. Ricca's Kindergarten.

Color and cut out your groundhog.

Glue it to a Popsicle stick.

Carefully cut a slit in the bottom of your cup. My son just used his Popsicle stick to poke a hole in his.

Cut a strip of green paper and glue it to the top of your cup so it is sticking up above the cup.

Cut slits in the paper so it looks like grass.

Put your groundhog in the cup, with the Popsicle stick through the slit and move the groundhog up and down so he can peek out of his hole to check for his shadow!
